Hello all:

SAPAC at the University of Michigan uses Titanium, and we love it for a number of reasons, including that it allows easy review of case notes by a single person or by a group of people (excellent tool for use with clinical interns and also to have  aquality check on everyone-s work), it is fantastic for tracking and coding all the efforts made on a client's behalf, not just individual appointments  which allows us to give a very detailed, rich picture of the full spectrum of our work, it has a totally customizable on-line intake form so that we can flag specific issues or track specific demographics.  We can upload documents into it, save e-mail, etc. I have also found it to be user-friendly.

Because it is a software program that is often utilized by campus counseling centers, what it does not do well, however, is track incidents.  Its strength is in case management over a long term.  From our perspective, that was a welcome shift in focus as we had been far too focused on connecting a student's care to a specific incident in our previous database, and as our survivor care philosophy and practice shifted, our incident database was not good at giving clear and easily accessible information on a continuum of care a survivor may access over years, rather than weeks or months.

At UCF, in partnership with our IT programmers, we designed and built a record management database that allows us to accurately and confidentially record and track information for our cases and also allows for the generation of department and advocate based monthly reports for both internal and external grant funded initiatives. Subject: Database for tracking cases

Good morning,

Could you share the vehicle (software programs, etc.) that you use to store information about reported sexual violence cases? Currently we are using Excel, which I’m certain is not the most efficient or effective program.

Best,

Katie Dalton
