Dear Southeastern Sister Centers:

 

The staff of The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is pleased to host the regional Women’s Center Meeting on May 17-18, 2012 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Please save the date!

 

This meeting is open to all who are interested including staff, students, faculty, volunteers, board members, etc. I do not have individual e-mail addresses, so please forward this invitation to those who may be interested.

 

We are all confronted with a variety of obstacles which include budget and socio-political climate challenges. Traditionally, the group has met each year to provide the space and opportunity to gather, fellowship, and generate new ideas.

 

Last year, we attended our first meeting at the Women’s Center at Virginia Tech. A group of us went, and we enthusiastically brought back some great initiatives. We truly cherished the time spent in sisterhood. We left reinvigorated and inspired and hope that this year’s meeting will continue in the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie.

 

We would like to build an agenda that is participant-directed. Please use this link (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/X6W6J7Y) to register and help construct an agenda that meets your needs. We will select the top eight topics of interest for our break-out sessions.

 

Registration is open now and runs through Friday, April 20^th. The cost is $80 per participant, and can be completed online, or printed and mailed to: Latrisa Pugh, UA WRC, Box 870361, Tuscaloosa, AL, 35487.  Please be sure to indicate your preference for the lunch selection. Make checks payable to: Women’s Resource Center. 

 

Late registration is open from April 21^st through Friday, May 4^th. The cost is $100 per participant. Limited scholarships are available to cover registration costs. Please contact Latrisa Pugh at (205) 348-5040 for more scholarship information.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott. This is conveniently located to campus and has amenities that we think will make this a comfortable place to stay. Guests may make reservations by calling 866-699-9212 and requesting the special UA conference rate of $99.00.  They can simply ask for the SE Women’s Center Regional Conference.
