I am writing to let everyone know about an upcoming opportunity to attend a Green Dot Training and become a certified Green Dot Instructor. Registration deadline is this Friday, Nov. 14.

The Green Dot strategy is a new way of thinking about and doing prevention.

Green Dot is about culture change – harnessing the power of individual choices to

shift our current norms. It was designed by integrating some of the best research

on social change, diusion of innovation, communication, marketing, bystander

intervention, and perpetrator patterns into a comprehensive prevention program.

Participants will be certied to implement Green Dot in their communities. The

training will include a comprehensive review of the philosophy, research-base,

curriculum, and launch plan.

Green Dot Instructor Certification:

This training equips the participant with:

• An introduction to the Green Dot model and a new language of prevention

• A comprehensive understanding of the research-base of Green Dot and its

application

• Effective strategies for addressing long-standing points of resistance

• A personalized script used for implementation of the Green Dot Overview

Speech that you will use to inform your community about Green Dot and build

support

• A detailed curriculum used for implementation of the 6-hour Green Dot

Bystander Training

• A practical model to guide your community mobilization efforts

Upon completion of the training each participant will receive:

• The Green Dot Instructor Certification required to launch Green Dot.

• The necessary permission and materials to use Green Dot in your community.

• A 200+ page Green Dot Instructor’s Manual, including the curriculum for the

foundational 30-60 minute Green Dot Overview Speech, the 6-hour

Green Dot Bystander Training, materials for Social Marketing efforts, as well as background and foundational

information on the Green Dot Community Mobilization Strategy.

• Electronic versions of set all necessary graphics and templates for launching

the social marketing and awareness aspects of Green Dot, support materials

for instructors, powerpoints and more.
