Hello,
My name is Marcie Campbell and I am the research associate for an online Learning Network that the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children in London, Ontario, Canada is implementing. The Learning Network will include core competencies, best practices, and training curriculum for individuals that may come into contact with victims of sexual violence and domestic violence. The purpose is to provide information to non-therapists on how to respond and support victims of violence. Currently I am trying to find empirical support for training approaches that are used (e.g., training for peer support programs) with non-professionals who come into
contact with victims of sexual assault. I was wondering if there is any information on training curriculum for peer support/non-therapist support for victims of sexual violence and if this training has been developed by evaluated resources or if the training itself has been evaluated? Would you know of anything like this and would you be willing to share it? I would appreciate any information you could provide.
Thank you,
Marcie Campbell
