Minimum Experience/Education Master's degree in higher education, student development, social work, counseling, women's studies, public health, or related field required.
Minimum three years of administrative and program development experience in higher education. 
Departmental Required Skills Must have demonstrated commitment to and understanding of issues significant to women in diverse communities. Position requires broad knowledge of gender issues and gender dynamics such as the cultural, educational, systemic, political, intellectual, career, economic, and personal needs, concerns, and interests of women. Knowledge and expertise in the theory and practice of college student development is expected, as is knowledge of feminist theory, principles, and practice. Successful candidates will demonstrate awareness of how a broad range of gender issues lead to and impact gendered violence, along with an understanding of how the intersections of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability and other significant aspects of identity and oppression are connected. Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication, and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to build collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders.

Directors must possess the ability to take initiative, work and think independently, and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented work environment. In addition, the ability to understand and articulate gender-related needs and concerns from a committed multicultural perspective to a diverse community of students, staff, and faculty is critical. 
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Doctorate preferred

The successful candidate will be familiar with college student development and university systems and is both comfortable with and empowered by speaking out confidently and thoughtfully in support of all forms of social justice. Experience working with gender issues in a university setting is strongly preferred as is a commitment to serve different constituencies (e.g. GLBTQQI community, students of color, men). Knowledge of and experience with team-based management practices, demonstrated success in fundraising, commitment to an empathetic management style, and a sense of humor are assets. Candidates should have knowledge and experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence and be familiar with current best practices for prevention. 
Essential Job Duties Supervision and Administration 50%
Responsible for overall selection, supervision, professional development, and performance evaluation of staff in the Center; direct supervision of both Assistant Directors and an Administrative Assistant. Assess and evaluate activities and submit regular reports on the accomplishments of the Center. Assess gender-related needs on campus, evaluate effectiveness of existing programs, identify areas for growth and improvement, and participate in institutional strategic planning efforts.

Fiscal Management and Fundraising 20%
Provide overall fiscal management of the Center, including strategic planning, development and oversight of annual budgets funded from multiple sources, and fundraising. Develop and organize fundraising events: Fundraising consists of developing and implementing thoughtful and creative events that would bring money to the Center, as well as internal and external grant writing and donor cultivation of former students and friends of the Women's Center. Increase the donor database.

Outreach and Advocacy 15%
Lead and participate in efforts on campus to achieve social justice, such as serving on campus and community committees, participating on policy review committees, attending campus and community functions, and supporting outreach, recruitment, and admissions efforts. Assist in the development, implementation, and review of university policies related to the mission of the Center. Remain informed about regulations and laws that affect women as well as constituent groups. Market Women's Center programs and services.

Program Management 10%
Ensure that Women's Center programming initiatives are in line with the Center's mission and objectives and promoted via a calendar of events. Assist with programming and outreach activities and take the lead with programming as needed. Build collaborative relationships with faculty who may be engaged with the Women's Center as mentors, advocates and program resources. Nurture partnerships with other campus units and organizations to facilitate student learning through collaborative programming.

Direct Services 5%
Assess needs, provide on-site support via crisis counseling when needed, and make appropriate referrals to on and/or off campus resources for persons seeking assistance with various concerns (e.g. sexual and relationship violence, stalking, reproductive health, etc.) with confidentiality and empathy.
