The third paragraph of our Sexual Conduct Policy contains our Amnesty Policy:

Even if under the influence at the time of an incident, a victim can report sexual conduct policy violations without incurring judicial sanctions. This means that a victim, or anyone helping a victim, can report the incident without fear of receiving a judicial referral.”

This policy has been in place for at least 8 years now.

Juliette,

We don't have a formal policy, but it is a standard practice, explained on the Office of Student Conduct's "Frequently Asked Questions" page...  click on the last question on the list.

>Hello all -
>
>We at NC State University are currently looking to create some form of amnesty policy that would provide both active bystanders and survivors of sexual assault amnesty from police charges and student conduct tickets if they were drinking underage. We are doing everything we can to show the administration the need for this and are looking to your campuses for help.
>
>As far as we know, there is no actual data that specifically states the lack of an amnesty policy is a barrier to reporting. however anecdotally we know this to be true. Have any of your campuses done a survey of some sort getting at this question? If so, could we see your results?
