Hello Charity,

 

I would recommend “Trauma and Recovery” by Judith Herman.  She draws really interesting parallels between trauma survivors and combat veterans, and emphasizes the need to consider political and social context when addressing trauma.

Do you have any recommended readings for survivors of sexual assault and IPV, particularly touching on the topic of recovery?

Have you found particular books/videos to be empowering for your students?

It is also important to have resources that represent diverse perspectives, beliefs and cultures.
