Colleagues, For those of you who are following the ongoing fallout of the gang rape case at the University of the Pacific, this article provides the latest information. The incident raises interesting questions about the appropriateness of a Vice President for Student Affairs, in this case Elizabeth Griego who is also the current President of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, making reference to the testimony of the multiple perpetrators differing from that of the survivor as being a state of “multiple truths.” It also raises an interesting issue of the appropriateness of a University who found multiple perpetrators responsible for sexual misconduct then, reportedly, wants the young woman – who campus officials acknowledge was the victim of "sexual misconduct" – to pay its attorneys’ fees and wants her lawyers sanctioned.
