I am responding to a request for more information on my film, Spitting Game: The College Hook Up Culture. I have attached an updated bio and synopsis which gives more background and details about the film.

 

I have two versions: the 82 minute feature (which was on the film festival circuit) and a 35 minute educational version.  Both versions focus on the risks, reasons, and realities students face within the hook up culture on campuses. It is a student-driven narrative with individual interviews, focus group, and hidden identity interviews. Thought provoking statistics are placed in-between clips with additional interviews by notable experts in the field of sexual violence prevention.Dr. David Lisak is interviewed on the issue of non-consensual sex. The feature version also includes interviews with parents & detailed information on date rape drugs. Subjects covered are as follows: Alcohol and other drugs, peer pressure, hooking up, drunken sex, friends with benefits, etc, STDs, sexual assault, and issues surrounding consent.

 

My film sounds an alarm on the risky behaviors associated with the hook up culture and also challenges the status quo. I am currently in the process of adding bonus footage interviews to include Jackson Katz, Gail Dines, and Michael Kimmel. I have also interviewed more students to keep my information current.
