Has anybody heard of "Stop Assaults On Women" online at
http://www.stopaow.org/ a "a non-profit corporation
that takes a grass roots, local approach to preventing assaults on women"?
I'd never heard of them before today when they put out a press release
promoting a device called the "Attacker Blaster" from Brite-Strike
Technologies.

They cite the recent Daily Beast campus crime rankings as "as concrete proof
that college students need better personal protection, especially at urban
and inner-city institutions." Incidentally, we had nothing to do with these
rankings and urge students and others to use them as a starting point only
and to get the full picture when looking at schools.
