Joe and Chad and others, Are you aware of the Safer Society book (The Journey of Healing), published in
April, that is a literary anthology of the writings of survivors of sexual
abuse—from around the world. It certainly gives a very clear and powerful
challenge to any kind of victim blaming or “prevention.” Marjorie From: Joseph Vess

for sharing this Chad; I also want to add that the Georgetown Voice has run a
number of great articles this year challenging victim blaming and traditional
definitions of “prevention” (after a police officer said women just
need to lock their doors more). Maybe a good place to point to for folks that
are trying to help improve their campus paper’s coverage of sexual
assault. I know part of the reason for the strong coverage at Georgetown is
that the Georgetown Men Creating Change student group (part of Men Can Stop
Rape’s national Men Creating Change program) has a strong relationship
with the Voice, and even has some crossover membership. Joe -- MEN
