Security On Campus has raised these, and other concerns with the Daily Beast
both this year and last. Some changes were made to this year's rankings
including the exclusion of forcible sex offenses from the rankings due to
the fact that institutions that do a better job of supporting vicitms
usually have higher numbers because more report but aren't necessarily more
dangerous.
The Grand Rapids Press has a good assessment, including comments from SOC,
