Department Description: This position is located in the Police Department,
Davis. The Police Department is responsible for all law enforcement for the
Davis campus and Medical Center in Sacramento, maintaining an environment
which supports the University's mission of education, research and public
service, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Position Details
Job Summary: Under direction of the Police Captain, develops and implements
educational strategies to prevent sexual violence in the campus community
through workshops, class lectures, and discussion groups. Coordinates and
delivers a comprehensive campus self-defense program (Rape Aggression
Defense) for students, staff and faculty.
Physical Demands:
-Position requires engaging in physically demanding self-defense
instruction.
Work Environment:
- This position is a critical position and subject to a background check.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background
investigation including criminal history and identity check.
- Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety
guidelines/instructions.
- Work a flexible schedule within a standard work week including occasional
evening and weekends.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
-Experience in teaching, training or group facilitation, particularly in
engaging students in active learning.
-Knowledge of gender and its influence in the lives of college students.
-Experience in student development theory and practices.
-Experience leading physical self-defense courses.
-Experience interacting with individuals of different cultures, ethnicities,
sexual orientations, abilities, and genders in teaching, facilitating,
advising and supervisory roles.
-Oral and written communication skills to develop informational handouts,
instructions, learning materials, etc., and convey to a diverse audience.
-Computer skills using word-processing, internet and file management
applications.
-Budget management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience teaching/training on a college campus
