Especially because Teal Ribbon is a commercial enterprise, I've always
thought that it is a difficult and important responsibility to strike the
right
balance between providing information to members of this listserv about
goods or services, and mis-using access to the group for self-promotion. So I
was delighted that the subject was finally raised, and that the writer was
courageous enough to be critical.
It would be really useful for me to hear more opinions from other people in
this group -- especially from the people who rarely post. My own preference
would be for people describing their own services to use a single,
abbreviated post rather than a series of essays. If there are responses from
other people on the listserv, then those could be answered off-list rather
than
on. And for those genuinely interested in proving that they respond well to
criticism, extended conversations could be listed on their own websites so
that consumers, including sapc members, could choose how deeply they
wanted to pursue the topic.
