To add another resource... if anyone is interested in having a conversation
about bystander intervention, I will be moderating two online reading club
meetings next Tuesday and Thursday focused on bystanders. The reading for
the meetings is Joan Tabachnick's "Engaging Bystanders in Sexual Violence
Prevention", but the discussion can be about anything related to bystander
intervention. Also, these reading clubs are not presentations... they are
opportunities for a bunch of prevention people to get on to a phone call and
talk about a particular topic (the topic of the reading) while we share
visual information via web conference. So, the more people the better! (up
to a certain point, of course). Here is the registration information:
Reading Club Meetings
This next Prevent Connect Reading Club meetings will review "Engaging
Bystanders in Sexual Violence Prevention" by Joan Tabachnick for the
National Sexual Violence Resource Center. These meetings will be held on:
Tuesday, February 16th at 11 AM Pacific Time (2 PM Eastern)
Thursday, February 18th at 11 AM Pacific Time (2 PM Eastern)
Reading Clubs are small, open web meetings limited to 25 participants each.
In these meetings, we will discuss the reading and the topic of bystander
intervention as a prevention tool in general. To register for a Reading Club
meeting, go to:
