I wanted to share with you all,
As I've been pretty fed up with current TV programming I've begun
watching Facts of Life reruns on hulu.com. Season 3, episode 2 dealt
with the issue of rape, stranger rape. An attacker that came out of the
bushes and had some pretty jaw dropping victim blaming (why didn't you
walk home with friends, why didn't you take the lighted path, etc.).
The episode originally aired in 1981 (or the year 3 P.K. -three years
pre-Koss) and was probably ground breaking at the time.
While we all get frustrated with the lack of education, when you step
back and look we've really, collectively, have made an impact.
I wish you all the happiest of holidays, and may our new year be an
impactful one! I appreciate all of you at the other end on this
list-serv, as a single prevention educator on my campus it's nice to
know I've got great colleagues in this field just an email away.
