Have you seen the movie "Precious"? I did this past weekend. Very powerful drama dealing with multiple forms of abuse (including sexual abuse). The question I have is how everyone feels about the Social Worker asking the Mother how she could allow her male partner to sexually abuse her daughter over the years?
As we all know, scenes such as this one are often blaming the mother for what the perpetrator did. In this movie, the situation is even more complicated because the mother herself is abusive toward the daughter (character named Precious is the daughter). How do you plan on discussing this movie in classes and/or educational settings?
