Duties And Responsibilities
Actively participates in team approach to planning and implementing
comprehensive sexual assault program. Research best practice models of
sexual assault education and prevention strategies with college-aged men.
Develop and implement prevention and outreach activities for undergraduate
men. Conduct educational workshops as needed. Collaborate with Education
Specialist to schedule and implement First Year Orientation programs. Advise
and supervise student peer leaders and intern(s) who work with men's
prevention and education. Create program education and outreach materials
specifically tailored for male groups (fraternities, men's clubs, athletics,
etc.). Meet individually with students who have been accused of sexual
misconduct to provide education about community standards at Harvard. Work
with the Director and Education Specialist to conduct evaluation activities,
social norms campaigns, and bystander intervention trainings. Provide
support and assistance to male survivors of sexual assault and other forms
of abuse or relationship violence as needed. Other duties as required. This
position reports to Director of Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and
Response. Diverse candidates, including men, strongly encouraged to apply.
Position requires significant evening work and some weekends; flexible
schedule negotiable.

Basic Qualifications
BA/BS required, preferably in psychology, risk and prevention strategies,
higher ed., health education, counseling or related field.

Additional Qualifications
Master's degree preferred in related field (psychology, risk and prevention
strategies, higher ed., health education, counseling or related field). The
successful candidate will have experience with or demonstrated commitment to
developing and implementing violence prevention and education programs
targeting young men. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and
ability to work effectively with student, faculty and administrative
constituencies required.

Additional Information
The Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response was established in 2003
to provide confidential support, information, and resource referrals to
survivors of sexual violence. The mission of the Office of Sexual Assault
Prevention and Response is to promote the compassionate and just treatment
of student survivors, their friends, and significant others, foster
collaborative relationships between campus and community systems, and affect
attitudinal and behavioral changes on campus as we work toward the
elimination of sexual violence against all people. The position has a higher
demand during the academic year. This 12 month position will be paid at .5
FTE (20 hours per week). The Prevention Specialist will work 24 hours for 44
weeks and 8 weeks at 0 hours. The 8 weeks at 0 hours will be the last 2
weeks in June, 4 weeks in July, and the first 2 weeks in January.
