Hey y'all,
  There aren't a lot of good books out there for parents of survivors in 
general - let alone for working with male survivors. There is a pamphlet - 
I'm not sure if it's in print any longer - called "If he is raped" by Alan W. 
McEvoy (looks like you can pick it up on Amazon) - it says it's for parents, 
too. If the survivor was assaulted as a child, the Mic Hunter book (Male 
Survivors of Child Sexual Assault?) and Mike Lew (Victims No Longer) are both 
good, but I find the latter more accessible and readable. Finally, The 
Courage to Heal is good for supporters, I find, though the reader will have 
to transpose the pronouns to male as it is written for female survivors of 
child sexual abuse. That said, I think there is a lot of great info in there 
useful for understanding and supporting survivors of all genders. They also 
wrote a companion book "allies in healing" - which I never liked as much as 
the "for survivors" book, which has some good stuff in it, but is written 
more for intimate partners. If y'all know of some other (more current?) 
resources, I'd love to hear about 'em!
