Last night was his first apology taking some accountability. Previously, all he kept saying was that he meant the 18 year old daughter and not the 14 year old daughter (as if sexually degrading a 18 year old female is okay).
The reactions around the country were wide ranging. For us discussing David Letterman's comments as sexually degrading on YouTube, some people attacked us for "Supporting Palin" which we've never done and did not even mention in our YouTube videos. The attacks toward our video were voracious at times. When we'd reply to those attacks and ask the person to watch the video again to see where we were promoting Palin or her beliefs, they would often apologize for "jumping ahead" and making an assumption about what the video said. Politics in our country definitely gets some people so emotional that they appear blind to logic at points.

Thanks Ew, that is a great article about this topic. I didn't know Letterman
re-apologized last night.
There has been a little bit of conversation about this topic on other lists.
Best,
Chad

Hello all,
There is an article in the Washington Post about the use of the Palin
daughters as punchlines for late night talk show hosts - a line of 'jokes'
that goes back some time... (see link)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/15/AR2009061503

wondering why this hasn't been a topic of conversation before now?
Thanks, Ew Quimbaya-Winship
