Assistant Director for Sexual Assault and Community Health Services

 

Washington University in St. Louis seeks to fill its newly created position
of the Assistant Director for Sexual Assault and Community Health Services
to begin during the 2009-10 academic year.  This person, who reports to the
Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of the Habif Health and Wellness
Center, will be responsible for directing campus-wide prevention and
response efforts focused on sexual and relationship violence.  The Assistant
Director will work closely with campus partners (including Judicial Affairs,
campus police, the Office of Health Promotion, Student Health Services, the
Office of Overseas Studies, and relevant academic departments) and key
community services and agencies to develop and implement a clear,
student-centered crisis response protocol, design evidence-based violence
prevention programming for students, and coordinate the efforts of active
student groups.  The Assistant Director will be expected to develop efforts
that meet the needs of all survivors, including male survivors and those
from LGBT, international, and other underrepresented populations on campus.
Some evening hours are required.

 

Qualifications: Masters or terminal degree in public health, student
affairs, social work, psychology, or a degree or certificate in gender
studies, and significant experience working with sexual assault and
relationship violence in a college setting.  Applicants must possess
superior writing and public speaking skills.
