Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of
Assistant or Associate Director for Student Diversity and Inclusion
(DOQ)/Women’s Center Coordinator (WCC), to become a part of our team to
continue our quest toward becoming a Metropolitan Research University of
Distinction. The Assistant or Associate Director for DOQ/WCC, provides
leadership and vision for the overall development of programs and services
for the campus Women’s Center; and the strategic direction of Student
Diversity and Inclusion within the unit of Student Affairs, with special
attention on the intersection of gender, race, sexual orientation and other
significant aspects of individual and cultural identity. This position will
work collaboratively with university and community members, including a
diverse, Women’s Center Advisory Board, to develop and implement a vision
that helps students to meet their educational objectives and reflects the
overall mission of the Women’s Center. In addition this position provides
training, staffing and some direct service advocacy and crisis intervention
for students in need. The Assistant or Associate Director for DOQ/WCC serves
as a vital member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
You will have the opportunity to:
· Provide administrative direction, leadership and daily supervision
of staff, programs, and services, with an emphasis on helping students to
meet their educational objectives through direct attention to both
individual and systemic issues related to gender
· Represent and advocate for the mission and vision of the Women’s
Center with the Student Diversity and Inclusion leadership team, the campus
and the community
· Implement and facilitate programs, trainings, and workshops for the
university community to support the mission and vision of the Women’s Center
on a wide range of gender and human rights issues
· Provide direct crisis intervention and advocacy services to
students and critically assess and advocate for the improvement of
institutional structure and resources in support of these issues.
· Create University-wide educational publications (print and web) and
educational marketing campaigns as well as maintain and update written
protocols and procedures
· Actively conduct on-going research in the field (Women’s Centers
and Women’s/Gender Studies) and gather evaluation information to assess
success of program content, marketing initiatives, and program goals
· Maintain on-going representation with campus based and community
agencies in an effort to increase effectiveness and coordination of
services, including serving on committees, task forces or community boards,
representing the Women’s Center as needed
At a minimum you should have:
· Master's degree in Women’s/Gender Studies, College Student
Personnel, Student Development, Student Leadership, Counseling, Social Work,
or related field or equivalent professional experience
· Three years experience (volunteer work is acceptable) in a
University-based women’s center or in a system or community-based advocacy
program
The preferred candidate will have:
· Experience with victim assistance services, advocate training,
and/or prevention education programming; preferably in a university setting
· Experience interpreting and working with the JeAnne Clery Act, The
Student Right to Know, Campus Security Act, FERPA, and Title IX
Salary and benefits: Salary range: $45,000-$52,000. Final salary will
depend upon qualifications and experience. This is a professional staff
position at Boise State University and offers an excellent benefits package
including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, retirement plan, reduced
tuition benefits, 24 days vacation leave and 12 days sick leave annually,
plus 10 paid holidays, as well as other benefits.
