Dear Kim,
That's quite an assignment! I think it's very interesting to think about the
"change model" for an intervention like this. What does the research tell us
are the skills college students most need to develop? What defines a healthy
relationship for this stage of life? (i.e., I think there's more research on
healthy marriages, which may not all apply to dating relationships.)
Anyway, here are a few resources you might find helpful. This webpage lists a
number of "Prevention Programs Addressing Youth Dating Violence," some of
which include "healthy relationship" components:
http://www.ucalgary.ca/resolve/violenceprevention/English/reviewprog/youthdprogs.htm.
Although many of the listed programs are designed for younger audiences,
some of the elements may be adaptable to college students. Each listing
includes a good description of the program as well as information about the
program evaluation.
In addition, there's a resilience bibliography here:
http://www.ncvc.org/ncvc/main.aspx?dbID=DB_Bibliography110 that includes
several sections, including general info, interventions, measures, positive
emotions, PTSD, and theory.
Good luck -- I hope these are helpful.
Best Regards,
Linda

Hi All!
I have been asked to assist a committee in my division to create a Life
Skills class for incoming freshman. I have been assigned the section on
healthy relationships (with peers, romantic partners, roommates, faculty, and
alcohol), conflict management, and sexual assault risk reduction (broad
subject matter, I know). I am wondering if anyone has any resources
(articles, texts, chapters, handouts) for this that are good for incoming
college students (especially focusing on healthy relationships). I have been
told that the articles/text need to be academic in nature so that the faculty
will approve them.
Thanks for your help!
Kim
