Men Can Stop Rape, Inc. (MCSR), a Washington, DC-based organization that
mobilizes young men to find and use their strength in creating cultures free
from violence, especially men's violence against women, seeks a Director of
Development.

As a rapidly growing organization with a stellar regional, national and
international reputation, MCSR serves thousands each year with its Men of
Strength (MOST) Club youth programming, Strength Mediaworks public education
materials, Strength Trainings for professionals, and Campus Strength program
for college activists. The Director of Development position offers an
exciting opportunity for an ambitious development professional to advance
MCSR's mission while building a track record of increasing responsibility.

The Director of Development will work closely with the President & CEO to
develop and implement a 3-5 year strategic development plan that will:
maximize revenue from foundations, government, individuals and corporations;
establish development operations processes and procedures that ensure
compliance with grant agreements. The Director of Development will tailor
communications with key audiences and represent MCSR to the public, serving
as an effective spokesperson and ambassador for the organization. This
position works closely with MCSR Board of Directors to identify
opportunities to expand outreach and meet development targets. The Director
will also be supervising a Development Associate.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Development
-Develop targeted communication and solicitation strategies for key segments
of individual donors
-Manage annual giving campaign
-Develop organizational capacity to solicit and cultivate major donors

Foundations
-Design philanthropic sector strategy including the identification of new,
major philanthropic partners
-Develop major philanthropic solicitations
-Maintain philanthropic communications and relationships

Government
-Design governmental sector strategy
-Identify local, state and federal government RFP's
-Produce successful competitive government applications

Corporate
-Design Corporate Sector strategy
-Develop major corporate partnerships and sponsorships
-Increase annual corporate giving

QUALIFICATIONS
4-6 years of development experience; track record of meeting revenue targets
and managing expenses; strong attention to detail; exceptional
interpersonal, verbal and writing skills; ability to work in a fast-paced
environment; a commitment to the mission of MCSR. Experience with Raiser's
Edge a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS 
Salary commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits include
vacation, sick, personal, holiday pay, medical, dental, vision, and a 403(b)
retirement plan.
