I have cosponsored 4 conferences with them at John Jay College and had them
speak in my classes. They are fantastic.
They connect well to male students (and female) and they have a wonderful but
blunt way of holding men accountable for violence against women. I had Ted
Bunch speak in a class I taught last fall and I still hear from students
about how moving they thought Ted was and how much his presentation made them
think about their relationships. IN fact, we are working on starting a men's
group on campus from his presentation.
I am pretty sure Tony played football so he is also a natural for talking to
athletes and Ted may have been as well. If our athletics would let in such a
speaker, I would have them in every semester. Do it. they are also big on
creating community and fostering real lasting social change in this area.
They are beginning to work on developing college groups on campuses. They are
a natural.
Any other questions I'm happy to answer about them.

Subject: A Call To Men Organization Recommendation
Good afternoon,
My name is Sonia Montoya, Program Coordinator at the Women's
Resources & Research Center at UC Davis. I would like to know if
folks have attended or booked the organization "A Call To Men"
trainings and/or booked Tony Porter (Co-Director) to speak at your
campus/organization? If so, we would like to hear your feedback and
who your target audience was? We're interested in booking this
organization and the co-director's to speak on violence against women
next month to our athletes. We would appreciate any feedback and
recommendations.
Best regards,
Sonia
