With 33 years of conference history, NOMAS, the National Organization for Men 
Against Sexism, is seeking to partner with grassroots and non-profit 
organizations, especially those dedicated to the pro-feminist principles 
embodied in our tenets and task (focus) groups (see www.nomas.org), to 
sponsor the next National conference on Men and Masculinity in your local 
community. This includes, but is not limited to, domestic violence shelters, 
women's health centers, organizations dedicated to ending violence, 
Racism,and Homophobia, GLBT equality groups, Women's Studies departments, 
Sociology and Social Work agencies, University Anti-Violence, Counseling, or 
Feminist groups, etc. 
 
Our mission is to bring national resources to local organizations and 
communities, where NOMAS can collaborate, participate, and support local 
initiatives while also being the financial underwriter of the conference. In 
2008, NOMAS partnered with South Valley Sanctuary, a DV shelter in Salt Lake 
City, in sponsoring a conference that supported the local Anti-Domestic 
Violence movement and Ending Men’s Violence networks (see www.nomas.org for

New ACHA Toolkit on the Prevention of Sexual Violence Now Available!

The American College Health Association (ACHA) developed the Shifting the
Paradigm: Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence toolkit to provide facts, 
ideas,
strategies, conversation starters, and resources to everyone on campus who 
cares
about the prevention of sexual violence. While there is a rich volume of 
tools,
knowledge, and resources for intervention after sexual violence, the emphasis 
of
this toolkit is to encourage prevention activities that take place before 
sexual
violence has occurred and which create social change and shift the norms
regarding sexual violence.

The toolkit was developed as a part of ACHA's Cooperative Agreement with
CDC's Division of Violence Prevention. To learn more about the project, you
