Hello all -
As my office is gearing up to work more and more with survivors, I am
trying to coordinate that we have the same protection as counseling
centers and rape crisis centers. Specifically, that we will not be
required to report cases that survivors report to us and that we can
keep records of our interactions with the survivors in a safe way.
I already am being told that this is going to be very challenging
because we are NOT the counseling center and in light of the VT
incident, the university doesn't want to be liable and so all campus
officials must report cases that could put everyone else in jeopardy...
My question is, do you all have documentation or policies that you can
share with me that I can share with our legal folks stating your
protections? Our legal person is willing to look at what others have to
hopefully move this along.
Thank you for your help!!
And, my meeting is tomorrow, so the sooner you can get me the info, the
better! Sorry for being last minute here...
