POSITION OPENING
The Assistant Director for the Student Involvement & Leadership
Center/Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center (ETWRC), University of
Kansas, Student Success. Coordinates the Sexual Violence Prevention
Services, assists with ETWRC administration and programming, and
provides assistance and referrals. Masters degree required. Initial

Job Description:
1. (40%) Coordinate the campus Sexual Violence Prevention Services and
assist in coordinating ETWRC educational programs and events. Includes
identifying student needs; contacting speakers; arranging for space,
equipment and materials; monitoring budget; generating promotional
materials and outreach efforts; and overseeing details during the event.
Present workshops and trainings on sexual violence and related issues to
student groups, campus organizations and departments.
2. (15%) Assist with the administration of the ETWRC, including
maintaining and organizing referral and resource materials, supervising
volunteers, and participating in short and long term strategic planning.
Oversee assessment of ETWRC programs and services, including conducting
program evaluations and tabulating and preparing reports on programming
activity and individual assistance.
3. (15%) Initiate and oversee outreach efforts to campus groups and
individuals to provide information and promote ETWRC and in particular,
Sexual Violence Prevention programs and services. Includes creating
promotional and publicity materials and overseeing information on the
ETWRC website.
4. (5%) In collaboration with the Program Director, provide information,
assistance and referrals related to gender-based concerns to members of
the campus community.
5. (10%) Assist in the development, organization and implementation of
SILC activities and programs taking on leadership roles when applicable.
6. (10%) Create and maintain professional liaisons and relationships
with pertinent campus and community members and organizations to
facilitate service delivery and program collaboration. Participate in
ETWRC, SILC, Student Success, and campus-wide committees and projects as
assigned.
7. (5%) Assist the Director of SILC and Program Director of ETWRC in
other designated responsibilities.
Required qualifications:
Masters degree.
Minimum of one year experience working with sexual violence issues.
Minimum of one year experience working with gender-related issues.
Minimum of one year experience presenting programs and/or workshops.
Minimum of one year experience developing educational materials.
Demonstrated effective written communication skills.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Individual must
have a phone and must live/reside within a 30-minute driving time to
campus.
Preferred qualifications:
Masters degree in counseling, social work, student affairs or other
related field.
Knowledge and/or experience in assessment.
Experience working collaboratively with individuals of diverse
backgrounds.
Ability to work independently within general policy guidelines.
Salary: $32,000-35,000 salary range (would like to post "Minimum of
$32,000 annually")
Start Date: Anticipated: June 1, 2008
