well said and I fully agree - training on the front end is crucial - we want
survivors to report behaviors from the beginning but if student conduct and
our police and counseling centers are not taking this seriously, the impact
will in truth be negative.

Hi Everyone
I rarely respond, but think this is critical. I have conducted many
trainings related to stalking and have come to the harsh realization that
most people, hearing boards, law enforcement personnel, and residence life
staff do not know much about what it is and the potential for many levels of
aggression. A “Matrix” of knowledge and supportive response needs to be
addressed to all points of contact for a stalking target BEFORE you educate
the general student population. If you educate first, and the system does
not know the realities of this crime, often their response can actually be
harmful to the target and those around the target. This is a very complex
issue.

Hell all -
I am wondering if any of you have an activity that you could recommend
would work great with college students to illustrate what stalking is -
as you all know stalking is so often minimized and laughed at - any help
here would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Juliette
