this is great. My question is, does the video include a follow-up
discussion about the skits? It was great seeing the actual skits, but I
am wondering what you do after them. What specific questions do you ask
and in what capacity do you discuss this? i.e. how many people per
group and who actually facilitates the discussion? How are those people
trained to facilitate?
Thank you!
Juliette
"It's so liberating and important for men to understand that they can
actually be friendly to women instead of playing some gender-specific
role, and that women are in most ways the same as they are. I think that
lots of women already know that, but not so many guys do." -my dad

Hello Everyone
Many of you have contacted me concerning the availability of the DVD
of
our new student orientation presentation "No Zebras, No Excuses" .
Before we chose to have it professionally filmed for distribution we
wanted to be sure it did what we thought it would. It has been
studied
twice with over 2,000 respondents and a significant decrease in rape
acceptance was found. We have also found a significant increase in
awareness of sexual aggression and bystander mentality on our campus
as
a result of this program. All 4,000 new students are required to
attend.
You may order the DVD and script at www.sapa.cmich.edu
<http://www.sapa.cmich.edu/> . The cost is $149. Please feel free to
adapt it, change it, etc.. The goal is education that creates
awareness
and change. Below is a synopsis of the DVD.

NO ZEBRAS: NO EXCUSES
No Zebras is the first program to focus on bystander mentality,
addressing the impact of intervention on situations of sexual
aggression. It stresses sexual aggression can no longer be ignored,
empowering students to stand up, take a stand, and help keep others
safe!
These vignettes are required for all incoming freshman students at
Central Michigan University. Each vignette is performed by members of
the nationally recognized group Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates and
each topic is supplemented by current statistical information.
No Zebras is facilitated by Steve Thompson, sex crimes profile and
author of No More Fear and Date/Acquaintance Rape: The Crime and
Criminal the most comprehensive profile and behavior pattern of
acquaintance rapists. Thompson is a national figure on the subject of
sexual assault, harassment, and stalking.
