I don't have time right now to write much about the current discussion
on gender issues (we are in our last week of classes here, as I'm sure
many of you are). But I do just want to say let's keep talking about
this. I'd love to hear more opinions and I think this is an important
topic from many different angles. I also think it would be a great
topic at the International conference on Campus sexual assault and
harassment (do I have the name right?) or any other conference where
many of us might be. I want to keep talking about it. I too am
concerned about presentations that have completely taken out any
analysis at all about gender/gender stereotyping/gender training that
seems alive and well in our society and I think there are many aspects
to consider in the prevention movement when we think about how we reach
different groups of people. Hope to write more later.
With that in mind - our student group is looking at bring in the
speakers Kelly and Becca: "Let's Talk about IT" presentation. Anyone
had them at their campus and have impressions they would like to share
about the effectiveness of their presentation?
