I really, really don't want to not be supportive of something that is
clearly meant to be, and probably is often, a positive initiative, but I
kind of don't really like the name "Pledge to Protect".  It feels very
patriarchal: less about taking care of each other, understanding how and
when it is good to help and more about maintaining existing social
structures.  Just a thought.

We know more and more campuses are utilizing the "Pledge to Protect" at
www.pledge2protect.org (completely free of cost and easy to implement).
>From the website, you download the 2 page form (1 page they take with them
and 1 page they sign to leave with you).  You have everyone sign the pledge
throughout campus and your local communiites.  Plus, each person signs the
full pledge and then they also sign a heart on the 2nd page.  Then, you post
all the signed hearts in specific locations on campus and/or in town.  If
you utilize the "Pledge to Protect", all we ask is to let us know your
results.

I am in intern at SUNY Fredonia's C.E.A.S.E. (Campus Education, Awareness,
Support and Effect) program and I am looking to create new programs for
Sexual Assault Awareness Month.   Some of Fredonia's other student groups
already do programs such as Take Back the Night, but I was looking for some
new, fresh programs that Fredonia has never seen before, such as the Denim
Drive and Teal Ribbons, but does anyone else have any other suggesstions?
I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!
