Hi Tricia,

At the University of Delaware, our Sexual Assault Awareness Month planning 
committee has collaborated with our student group MARS -- Men Against Rape 
Society -- to put on a couple of events.  One is "Rock Against Rape," a 
concert of local bands, proceeds of which go to the Sexual Assault Nurse 
Examiner's unit in our hospital's ER to fund sweatshirts & sweatpants that 
are given out to victims when their clothes are collected for evidence.  MARS 
members address the crowds at the events with statistics, local resources, 
and other information to educate the audience about the issues around rape.  

We co-sponsored a motivational speaker who addresses men's role in stopping 
sexual violence (and he does in a way that is hip, funny, and that encourages 
audience questions & discussion.)  Our speaker is someone who is here on 
campus but some other great speakers who do this work nationally are Mike 
Domitrz with his "Can I Kiss You?" program, Keith Edwards who is at the Univ 
of Maryland, or groups in DC like Men Ending Rape or Men Can Stop Rape.  All 
on that list but Keith have websites.  

In November MARS sponsored a White Ribbon Campaign.  You can probably google 
to get info about those.  MARS members reserved a kiosk in our student center 
and had students sign a non-violence pledge and wear white ribbons to show a 
visible sign of support for the pledge.

Our MARS group sells their own shirts for $9 each to promote their message.  
Their original shirt was cool - black shirt that says No on the front in 
glow-in-the-dark lettering.  On the back it says:  It should be that clear 
even in the dark.
