*Hours: *Business hours 4 days per week;* *Noon - 8:00 PM 1 day per week * *

*POSITION SUMMARY: *The Sexual Assault Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the collaborative development and timely implementation of an annual nationwide Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign and associated activities. This requires ongoing communication and coordination of a wide variety of external constituents and internal staff in planning, developing, and implementing various products, messages, and activities.

*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: *

4 Facilitate on-going communication, using a variety of formats and strategies, with anti-sexual assault advocates, public health representatives, community-based organizations and others throughout the country (including states, US territories, and tribal programs) interested in preventing all forms of sexual violence.


4 Plan, coordinate and implement public awareness and prevention activities including annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaigns in April.


4 Provide leadership for initiatives designed to expand the scope of basic awareness activities, such as the partnership with CDC to engage the healthcare sector in awareness and prevention campaigns.


4 Work with representatives from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and those from traditionally underserved communities to create and support SAAM activities and products that meet their needs.


*QUALIFICATIONS: *Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Public Health, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related concentration from four-year college or university. At least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in community education/ community outreach at an anti-sexual violence or public health program. This position requires outreach, communication, coordination and planning abilities as well as excellent writing skills. Creative design skills and familiarity with a variety of computer applications is helpful but not required. Spanish language skills a plus but not required.
