One of the best TBtN speakers whom I heard was the compassionate husband of a
survivor who was too upset to speak for herself. He gave one of the most
powerful recollections and used "I" statements to do so. He talked of their
life, their children, and their marriage. He urged men and women to work
together to end all violence against everyone.
Ironically, many of the women who organized the event did not want men to
speak that evening, and were shocked that the mostly audience responded so
positively to this brilliant and touching speaker.
What a great thread this is! I am enjoying everyone's responses.
