Thank you so much, Catherine and Judith! It's an honor to do this wonderful
work, and it means everything to have the praise of women like you to whom I
strive to be accountable.
You folks experience the wonderful, funny, smart Wendy Murphy here on this
list. I get to have her here in my community, and just happened to notice
this column by her in yesterday's paper:
http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/columnists/view.bg?articleid=137760. It's
about the whole Mel Gibson debacle (he's one of the characters in my play, so
this recent stuff has given me more material), except it touches on the
sexist things he said, that I didn't even know about).
Way to go, Wendy! (she's not just a brilliant ex-prosecutor, law professor,
CNN commentator, etc.: she's a pithy, funny columnist!)
Until the violence stops, Ben.

August 2006 quote: "As men who are part of the solution to end violence
against women and sexism, our success is dependent on seeking the leadership
of women and allowing that leadership to guide us.If we do not listen to,
invest in and believe the voice of women we are once again maintaining the
imbalance of power and reinforcing our status while we continue to
marginalize women and their experience. After all, women are the experts on
our violence and abuse toward them. The dominating group cannot define the
oppression for those who are oppressed." - Ted Bunch, A Call to Men
