Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator
University of Georgia
 
The University of Georgia is seeking a qualified professional to
coordinate educational and environmental strategies aimed at the
prevention of sexual and relationship violence and the promotion of
healthy, respectful relationships and healthy, consensual sexual
activity among University of Georgia students.  The person in this
position also serves as a contact for survivors of sexual and
relationship violence and the first point of care for referral and
advocacy.
 
Job Qualifications:
*        Masters degree in student affairs, health education, public
health, women's studies, social work or related field.  
*         At least two years experience in the field of
sexual/relationship violence prevention is preferred.
*         Knowledge of and experience in working with young adults
required, college health experience preferred.
*         A demonstrated understanding of root causes of sexual and
relational violence and commitment to cultural competencies and social
justice.
 
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
*         Plans, implements and evaluates prevention education
activities and strategies for men and women. 
*         Plans, implements and evaluates environmental strategies.
*         Raises awareness of the program and the issue of
sexual/relationship violence.
*         Networks with other campus departments and community agencies
in order to plan and implement educational and environmental activities
and to address other campus issues that relate to sexual/relationship
violence.
*         Develops, updates, and evaluates written materials.
*         Works with survivors and those in contact with survivors of
sexual/relationship violence in order to assess their immediate needs
and to provide support, consultation, and referrals to the appropriate
resources. 
*         Understands and upholds confidentiality and privacy policies.
*         Participates in continuing education activities.
*         Maintains and updates web site.
*         Coordinates management of sexual assault hotline.
*         Manages office and maintains office budget.
*         Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships
with student groups and organizations (Greek organizations, LGBT
Resource Center, Students of Color, First Year students, Athletes, etc.)
