Position Announcement
Director, Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response - Harvard
University
This position reports to the Director of Behavioral Health and Academic
Counseling. Responsibilities:
* directing all operations of the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention
and Response.
* Supervise the education specialist, prevention specialist, and all
interns and other student
volunteers affiliated with the Office.
* Develop and implement student education curricula and other programs
to prevent sexual assault.
* Provide individual support and assistance for students who have
experienced sexual assault, and manage a 24-hour on-call system for response
to assault.
* Work closely with the faculty advisory committee on matters of
policy and procedure.
* develop training programs for SASH (sexual assault/sexual
harassment) advisors and other designated support personnel of the College,
supervise and train the peer response hotline, and respond to a variety of
constituencies concerned about sexual assault.
* Collaborate with program evaluators to design, establish, and
oversee evaluation schema.
* Represent Harvard College as a liaison to local community agencies
associated with prevention and response to sexual assault.
Requirements:
* BA/BS required, MA in counseling/student services, social
work, public health, or related field.
* 5-7 years experience in sexual assault prevention and response or
related field, preferably in a
campus setting.
* Crisis counseling experience essential.
* Demonstrated understanding of the role of education in prevention of
sexual assault with college-age populations.
* Excellent attention to detail and written/verbal communication
skills.
* Demonstrated experience in working effectively with a diverse
population.
* Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and to use
sound judgment in responding to
crisis situations.
* Ability to work effectively with student, faculty and administrative
constituencies essential.
* The Director may on occasion serve as Teaching Assistant or another
appropriate instructional role provided that other responsibilities permit
this.
