APPLICATION DEADLINE
The search committee will begin screening applications on May 22, 2006
and will continue until finalists are chosen.

SALARY RANGE
Commensurate with experience. Starting salary range for this position
will be no less than $36,636.
        
DATE OF APPOINTMENT
July 1, 2006
        
RESPONSIBILITIES
*       Provide direct services to student survivors of sexual violence.
*       Create, implement and assess sexual violence awareness,
prevention and risk-reduction workshops, trainings and educational
programs for students including coordinating special events.  Provide
on-campus training and consultation about sexual assault prevention,
services, referrals and response protocol.
*       Participate in University committees that review and develop
sexual violence response policies and procedures.
*       Program administration.
*       Monitor, track and analyze outcomes of sexual violence reports
at MSU and maintain and publicize statistics.
*       Collaborate with a cross-section of University offices and
departments.
*       Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
*       Bachelor's Degree
*       40-hour sexual assault advocacy training completed
*       Two years full-time professional sexual violence, higher
education or related professional experience
*       Knowledge of  and experience with sexual violence-related
issues, including support services and prevention/risk-reduction
*       Knowledge of needs of college students or student development
theory
*       Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including
speaking/presenting
*       Program planning experience and ability to work collaboratively
with  students, staff, faculty and other university constituents
*       Sensitivity and an ability to assess and evaluate crisis
situations
*       Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate
boundaries
*       Ability to supervise student staff and volunteers
*       Demonstrated commitment to understanding the intersection of
gender, race, economic status, sexual orientation, and other significant
aspects of individual or cultural identity
*       Proven ability to multi-task and fulfill deadlines under
pressure
*       Ability to represent the institution, the Women's Center, and
the needs of students

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS 
*       Experience in a campus or community-based sexual violence
program
*       Knowledge of contemporary women's and gender issues
*       Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable
experience in promoting and enhancing diversity
*       Experience in Student Affairs on a university campus

40-hour sexual violence advocacy training program, as well as an
official transcript.
