Position Announcement
Oregon State University Student Health Services
Sexual Violence Prevention & Education Coordinator
Description
The Oregon State University Student Health Services invites applications for
a full-time 12-month position as Sexual Violence Prevention & Education
(SVPE) Coordinator. This person will provide leadership, coordination, and
training for campus sexual violence prevention and education efforts. This
includes coordination of peer education and programming efforts for a variety
of student groups such as incoming students and living groups. The SVPE
Coordinator will also collaborate with other campus professionals to develop
and implement a comprehensive plan to address sexual violence prevention and
education at OSU. The Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of
Health Promotion and works closely with professional faculty in the Women's
Center, Counseling & Psychological Services, Greek Life, Residence Life, and
other university departments as well as community organizations. The
approximate starting date is August 1, 2005.
Qualifications
* Master's in public health, counseling, psychology, women's studies,
or related field required.
* Minimum two years experience in presenting sexual violence education
and prevention programming required.
* Experience in a college/university setting is preferred.
* Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills,
excellent leadership and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work
collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and other university
constituents.
* Knowledge of current theory and research on effectiveness of sexual
violence prevention programming is preferred.
* Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable experience
in and commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
