"Sex Signals" is a great performance that gets at some of the more subtle nuances of sexual assault and consent. It uses humor to get past some of the defensiveness that students may have in talking about this topic. Both times I've seen the performance (in Rhode Island and at UMass-Amherst), they've been well received both by students and by the college staff. They're also very accomodating to feedback and seem to have a commitment to working with local sexual assault programs - even though they weren't booked through you, they'd be open to communicating before and after the show, I'm sure.

It's sad that you had to hear about them late in the game. I've had that experience several times and it's frustrating - I'll hear about some event by reading a flyer, when the agency I work for should have been contacted much sooner. Now that I do similar performances myself, I have included in my contract rider a clause that mandates that the host contact the local sexual assault agency, and give me their contact info as well - I think other performers should do this also, to avoid situations such as the one you're in. - Ben
