Molly,
Hello. I recently created a survey to pass out to first year students about their knowledge, perceptions and attitudes regarding sexual assault. I will be passing it out to an English class that is required for incoming freshman. It will be coming out of our budget, Health Education and Wellness. But, Ohio University also has a Institutional Research Dept. that does ongoing research on a wide variety of topics for incoming first year students. Unfortunately, it did not have any specific questions on sexual assault, and I thought it would be easier to make up my own survey. I talked with a professor from another research dept. (within the school of journalism) that reviewed my questions and reworded a couple to make them more clear. I researched other surveys that had been published to get an idea of what was available, but in the end I came up with my own questions that I thought would be helpful to explore students knowledge, perceptions and attitudes of sexual assault that will help us design our outreach programs. The only incentive I could include was to ask the professors to give extra credit to students who take the survey (outside of class time). If you want to give a monetary incentive, you would need to maybe find another funding source. That I don't know about that. It is my hope that if this assessment survey is successful, that we might expand it to other students.
I hope this helps. If you have more specific questions, please feel free to email me.

Hi All,
2 profs here are soliciting funding to replicate an unwanted sexual experiences survey here and I am wondering where other schools get the money to fun rape research on campus.
We currently have no institutionalized data collection on campus about sexual assault except for Clery.
Do you have ongoing research on sexual experiences or sexual assault on your campus? Who pays for it?
Thanks,
