We have a Task Force making a comprehensive review of our institution's policies, practices and protocols relating to sexual misconduct (that's what our policy is called), including "non-consensual sexual intercourse" (what our policy has called what others label "sexual assault"). Much of our Task Force's discussions of our policy revolve around how we have defined "consent," a central tenet of our policy. Students in focus groups have told us that our definition creates a "gray area" that they find very difficult to understand and use as a guide for their behavior.
With that in mind, I'd be interested in hearing from some of you how your institution's policy defines consent. Simply cutting and pasting your language into a response to me at "" would be greatly appreciated. And if you want to add any comments to your response, that would be even better. Many thanks....
