Hi All,
I think the discussion of stickers and splash guards is interesting, but I fear my original query has been lost in the shuffle. I have received very few suggestions about other tactics than flyers, posters, lectures.
We all use these approaches, but I refuse to believe that they are the only approaches people are finding effective as components of anti-rape education efforts.
Residence halls and bulletin boards are littered with posters and flyers, and often they are effectively invisible in the clutter. I use them too, along with peer and staff presentations and programs, but I am still looking for other ideas because I recognize that many or most students will never read the posters or see a program.
While my query generated a lot of traffic, I received virtually no responses with suggestions. If you have an innovative way to raise awareness or provide some education, please do share it with the list.
I was not advocating splash guards as a unitary response to sexual assault, nor was I promoting any particular wording for splash guards, stickers, or whatever else. I just want suggestions from people with more creativity and experience than myself :o)
Thanks again.
