Violence within intimate relationships is a problem that affects every community at all levels. The symposium will bring together groups and individuals committed to ending relationship violence, including law enforcement and legal advocacy, domestic violence and sexual assault agencies, counseling and psychological services, related community agencies and activists, and interested individuals. Stemming the tide of domestic violence is often a job we do in isolation from others whose roles in addressing the issue are different from our own. We hope that "Intimacy and Violence" enables everyone involved to benefit from collective wisdom, develop productive working relationships across approaches, and build support networks that re-energize our work.
