I just wanted to post a quick update about Get Carded Day 2003, as people
have asked about progress, and we have hit some very important milestones
with this project.

We initially started off hoping to cover 100 college campuses on September
23rd.  As of right now, we have more than 500 college campuses covered.
More than 200 organizations, both campus-based and rape crisis centers, have
agreed to distribute 500,000 wallet-sized information cards that include
tips to do reduce your risk of sexual assault, and what to do if sexually
assaulted.  The National Sexual Assault Hotline number is also listed on the
cards, and we are encouraging local centers that are participating to also
hand out information about the local services that they provide.

All 50 states and the District of Columbia have jumped on board to
participate, and the schools range from large state schools, to small,
private schools, to community colleges.

I would like to extend my thanks to all of you who are participating, and to
those of you who let other people know about Get Carded Day 2003.  Thanks to
you, we will be reaching half a million college students in one day with
important, educational information about the problem of sexual assault.
