Education Specialist , Full-Time, Salary Grade 055 Date Posted 06/04/2003
Responsible for development of curricula and implementation of comprehensive sexual assault education program with emphasis on targeted freshmen education programs as well as upper class and student leader-targeted education programs. Design and facilitate educational workshops addressing sexual violence prevention with undergraduates. Coordinate all aspects of scheduling, implementation, evaluation and follow-up with residential education program. Design, produce and create distribution plan for educational and outreach materials on sexual assault and prevention for the College. Develop and launch Office website. Implement general interest educational opportunities for the College. Coordinate evaluation activities with program evaluator. Provide individual support and assistance for students who have experienced sexual assault as needed. Share on-call coverage of after-hours crisis response pager system. Other duties as required. This position reports to the Director of the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response at Harvard University.

Required Education AB/BS required, Master's preferred. 1-3 years experience in sexual assault education, risk and prevention strategies, health education, counseling or related field. The successful candidate will have experience developing and implementing violence prevention and education programs targeting young adults. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, and ability to work effectively with student, faculty and administrative constituencies required. Position requires significant evening work; flexible schedule negotiable.

Prevention Specialist, Part-Time, Salary Grade 055, Date Posted 06/04/2003

Duties And Responsibilities Actively participates in team approach to planning and implementing comprehensive sexual assault program. Research best practice models of sexual assault education and prevention strategies with college-aged men. Develop and implement prevention and outreach activities for undergraduate men. Conduct educational workshops as needed. Collaborate with Education Coordinator to schedule and implement Freshman education program in Fall. Advise student peer leaders and intern(s) who work with men's prevention and education. Create program education and outreach materials. Work with Education Coordinator and program evaluator to conduct evaluation activities. Provide support and assistance to male survivors of sexual assault and other forms of abuse or relationship violence as needed. Other duties as required. This position reports to Director of Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response at Harvard University..

Required Education BA/BS required, preferably in psychology, risk and prevention strategies, health education, counseling or related field. The successful candidate will have experience with or demonstrated commitment to developing and implementing violence prevention and education programs targeting young men. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and ability to work effectively with student, faculty and administrative constituencies required. Position requires significant evening work; flexible schedule negotiable.
