I second all the book suggestions made by prior posters.  I have taught a course on gendered 
violence for several years (although it was cancelled by budget cuts last year), and have a 
syllabus that I'm constantly changing.  If anyone wants a copy, I'll be glad to send it to 
you--next week, after I'm back in the office.
