Facilities Management Outage Notification

Fire System - Smoke Detection,Sprinkler System Outage

BLDG: 0055 GARRETT HALL

Affected Floors / Rooms: Mechanical work only to occur in the exterior mechanical room (M001). The smoke detection system there may need to be turned off because of smoke/fumes.

Impact to Building Occupants: None

This outage only impacts smoke detectors and the sprinkler system in the exterior mechanical room (M001). The fire protection system in the remainder of the building and annex will remain in normal operation.

This Outage Will Occur Daily: 07:00-16:00

Scheduled Start Date and Time:	2020-Oct-09 07:00
Scheduled End Date and Time:	2020-Oct-23 16:00
Reason for Outage:	As part of the Medium Temperature Hot Water conversion project, mechanical work is required in the exterior mechanical room (next to the basement on the west side of the building). This work includes removing a heat exchanger and some piping and replacing it with new valves and new piping.
