Greetings all.  We'll be getting together this Friday, and I wanted to share the reading with you.  It a debate between Ray Kurzweil, now of Google fame, and David Gelernter.  Here's how they set up the issue:

Are we limited to building super-intelligent robotic “zombies” or will it be possible and desirable for us to build conscious, creative, volitional, perhaps even “spiritual” machines?
